My Total Health & Fitness

My health was getting worse and over all I was very out of shape, and overweight. On top of that I have Type 2 diabetes.

My work was/is very high stress, my schedule is always full, and I really did not have much time to take care of me... so it was always fast food, eating out and on the run to make it back to the office, or to the next appointment.

So last June I went to see my doctor for an ingrown toenail (yuck I know) and while I was there I had him run my blood work for the heck of it. Well, a week or so later I get a call from the docs office... my blood sugar levels were all over the place, cholesterol high and he wanted to put me on a whole new slew of drugs in order to help out the situation. That was a waking moment for me. You think you are doing OK then you get the blood work and boom... you are set back quite a bit.

So, since I saw my mom lose her battle with diabetes just a couple years ago, seeing how she went to type 1 and took insulin shots (self medicated as she guessed how much to give) and about 15 medications that she was on to boot... I decided it is time to wake up and get this under control... and to finally take the time for myself.

So about 2 months ago I was introduced (again) to a company called Total Health and Fitness. I had heard of them before, but did not really know what they do. So this time, through a friend who just started the program, I decided to go and meet the owner of the company. If I liked what I heard, I was in.

For me, I need a system. I need to take the emotion out of food, and turn it into a fuel... I also need to be held accountable by someone to make sure I am doing all I need to do, and help with corrections along the way.

Well, needless to say, that is what I found at Total Health and Fitness.

So far in my 6 weeks on the program the results have been more than I could have hoped for, even though Rick (my coach) said it would happen.

My program is set up for a 24 weeks... so in 6 months I will be a new me... a new body, one that I have always wanted. And if all goes well, I may be able to go off some if not all my diabetic medication.

When I decided to do the program, I said to myself and to Rick that this will be no holds barred. No cheating, no BS. Hey I am paying this company to see me through this transformation, why would I want to cheat? Why would I want to cheat myself any more?

So, after 4 weeks I was way ahead of schedule and he was amazed at how much I have lost. 2 weeks later the results continue to happen... last week was not as dramatic as previous weeks due to something in the diet that we have corrected for this next week... so we should be back on track ASAP.

When you think diet, you think low calorie, or less meals, low fat etc. Well not with this system. I am eating more than I did before... 6 times a day. I work out 6 days a week for 40 minutes each day. The diet is low glycemic and I have between 1900 and 2200 calories a day depending one the weeks schedule.

I meet with my coach once a week, usually Fridays so I can go shopping on Saturday and get my meals planned out. If I have meetings, or football practice I take my food with me. I told Rick up front that I need a meal plan that can be on the go. Easy preparation, not a lot of cooking time, and we have succeeded. Meals tale less than 5 minutes to make, and I am qucikly back to whatever it is I need to be doing.

Anyway... I just wanted to post about my new adventure, and give big props to Rick and Total Health and Fitness.

I will post here every week or two with updates as to my progress. I hope that this can help to motivate other folks like me who need help in getting the results they need. Life is too short to be unhealthy. The time is NOW to take acion and give yourself the life and lifestyle that you deserve.

Here is a copy of my results so far... I am pretty dang proud of these.

25.74 lbs of fat GONE!
10.74 lbs of added muscle mass and growing!
Can you say SWEET???? I can! Sweet!

If you want to see what Total Health and Fitness is all about, head on over to their website at http://thfonline.com/ they have 5 locations in Utah, 1 in Las Vegas, and 1 in California.

Speaking of Las Vegas, I have to go there from Sunday - Thursday next week on business. So, this will be my first few days not on the meal plan full time... but when I get back, it will be back to no holds barred baby!

Until next time...

My first post... finally.

Well, I have been wanting to get a blog going for years... but never had the time. My days are usually busy working on other matters such as well.... WORK and LIFE.

My days are always crazy... between running my business and being a single dad I am almost always occupied.

So here it is, Monday night, and I have a few moments to finally get this blog online. My goal is to update this puppy 3-5 times a week, who knows maybe more. I intended on hosting my own blog, but no time to design and implement these days... so blogger will do for now. Soon I will rework the design and such to be more reflective of my personality, business and brand.

Speaking of brand... I own a couple of different companies, and rep a few different products as well... but at the end of the day I decided the best brand to use in the marketing that I do is my own brand... iGoByDoc. Planning a website for this endeavor as well as a new logo etc. So be on the lookout for that in the coming weeks! It will be one stop for everything Doc... a portal into my life and work. I like the idea anyway!

What all will I talk about here on the Doc Block? Who knows... whatever is on my mind I suppose. In my mind I want this blog to be fun and informative for all to read. I may talk about a product or service that I like, a movie I just saw, or industry related information. Basically it will be my little place online to scribe my rants and raves... everyone needs an outlet right?

So to all who come to the Doc Block... welcome. Hey, as I just wrote that line I was thinking of what to call the people who will eventually follow me on here... and I came up with Block Heads. LOL.... okay maybe not. But I do mean it in a nice way... besides, I think I am the Block Head!

Have a great evening everyone!

Until next time...

Doc
